The STIHL MS500i has turned out to be one of the hardest saws to obtain and keep in stock at our store! It is powerful, light, well built and has EFI (electronic fuel injection).
The EFI system in this saw is very similar to STIHL’s TS500i chop-saw. We have rented this cutoff saw all the time and it has gone though everything with no problems.
A computer diagnostics tool can be hooked up to the saw and various troubleshooting can be accessed like fault codes or an hour meter down to the second.
Note: Most STIHL dealers have this diagnostic tool.
Simple to operate, it has no choke, but you do have a primmer that needs to be purged 8 times regardless of temperature.
